Silver Shark Adventures is an individually managed, independent EcoTour company.  My first trip to Bahia de los Angeles, Baja California, Mexico was in 1998, as a teaching assistant for a Marine Biology course.  Each and every year since then, I’ve traveled to Bahia helping to educate others through a college field studies program.  Furthermore, I’ve taken every possible opportunity to return numerous times a year.  Of all my travels, Bahia is the most unique and inspirational location; this belief is unwavering.  No matter how much satisfaction I get out of experiencing the natural world down there, my real joy comes from sharing these experiences with others.  This is how Silver Shark Adventures came to be.  I want those who will treasure every moment as much as I do to witness, admire and respect this exceptionally rich and biodiverse marine paradise.

With the company, my dream is to give our guests the feeling they have experienced something that is truly "once in a lifetime".  Something to check off their "bucket list".  Something which will forever resonate.

You should know by traveling with us, you are not only doing yourself the favor.  Bahia de los Angeles is a small fishing town driven by nature.  It’s isolated.  It’s non-touristic.  The majority of the local economy is dependent on the natural elements surrounding it.  In joining us, you are helping to stimulate their economy.  We always encourage our guests to get to know the local residents, many who have become an extended family to me.  We eat at their restaurants, we go to their shops, we share our stories.

We provide an array of adventures.  From swimming with whale sharks and sea lions in their natural habitat to “up close” and remarkable encounters with gray whales in Guerrero Negro.  Fin whales, humpback whales, blue whales, common and bottlenose dolphins are all residents of Bahia de los Angeles as well.  Numerous marine birds such as blue-footed boobies, frigate birds, ospreys, terns, cormorants and pelicans grace the aerial landscape of the bay.  Our trips are unique and customized, focusing on peak periods of the year for the highest chances of key encounters.  This is not a large scale, corporate tourism company.  We travel in small groups to maximize your comfort and time spent with the wildlife, while minimizing the negative impact on the environment.  We do not wish to have an overwhelming presence around these animals.  Instead, we choose to be fortunate and respectful for the opportunity to share their environment with them.

We are truly dedicated and passionate to provide you with an unforgettable experience.  We take pride in offering authentic adventures in more isolated locations.   We focus your precious time on exploring the region without having to be concerned with large groups and numerous boats.  So if you're looking to put together a unique trip with friends or family, a special team building adventure or simply want to explore the curious side of yourself and be inspired, send us a message and we can go from there.

Hope to see you soon,
- Charles Harmer
